INFORMATION YOU ASKED FOR
HOW DO I ORGANIZE MY ONLINE WORK? The most important way to make sure you don't miss anything is to CHECK YOUR EMAIL DAILY! Teachers, administrators and counselors will all be using your school email to reach you. Make this a HABIT to ensure success. If I were a student I would also copy each of my teacher's assignment into a planner, just as if I were in school. That way I could check off each thing when I am done. Our brains thrive on accomplishing things. If you don't have a planner, try using Google Tasks, Google Reminder or Google Keep. Let me know your favorite!
IS THERE SOME SPECIAL WAY TO WASH YOUR HANDS? Yes, When you wash your hands follow these rules:
Wash with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. I have my grandkids sing "Ring-Around-Rosie" then "Happy Birthday" then we rinse. Make sure you turn the water off with a towel so you don't recontaminate your hands. If you use hand sanitizer instead make sure it is at least 60% alcohol and rub your hands together until they are dry. Do this every time you leave the house, blow your nose or go to the bathroom. And, try really hard not to touch your face. That is the hard one for me.

I AM TRYING REALLY HARD TO STAY POSITIVE BUT SOMETIMES I GET REALLY SCARED. IS THAT NORMAL? You bet it is. In fact, if you weren't a little uneasy, I would be worried. No one who is alive today has experienced anything like this before. The last pandemic was in 1918, the Spanish Flu. The only people who even remotely have felt this and are alive today are those who lived through the air raids and black outs of WWII. The biggest fear for most people, is that of the unknown. That is why we are afraid of the dark, because we can't see. Once we turn a light on, things get way better. Tensions are easy, and there is less fear because we are learning more about the virus everyday. We got a handle on the flu with vaccines, we will beat COVID-19 too. Until then we just need to be really careful so we don't spread it so fast. I little bit of fear right now is actually a good reminder to wash your hands and avoid contact.
Mental Health Services
If you decide to try an online therapist make sure they are a licensed clinician. Their site should give you their license number and state of issue. In California you can check with the Board of Behavioral Sciences online. Another great source to find a therapist is Psychology Today.
